If you love horses, this page may be for you. Some contraversial views on the way horses are used in today's world.
Holly, a shire/thoroughbred cross 16.3 powerhouse was a real beauty with grace and immense speed. Somewhat angry and untrusting when found, only to become one of the most loving horses I have ever had the pleasure of bonding with.
A picture gallery of our beautiful horses, all over the rainbow bridge now, except for Stormy and his latest companion Bella.
Birds seen in Perthshire with songs.
THis is a portfolio of websites some live, most obsolete, and faded into history. Some developed prior to the array of platforms we have today, when work was done from a blank canvas requiring coding skills, patience and trial and error.
A personal photo gallery. Rural Scotland through the seasons. Findhorn, a wonderful beach. A nature reserve on the Moray Firth with views to Cromerty. Seals, dolphins, Osprey, and Peregrine Falcons grace the bay, one of my favourite places for a retreat, and to spend quality time with my wife and my dog.
Etiquette, sometimes referred to as "manners" are not taught in schools and the pressures on young parent today makes this a low priority.
To be attentive, empathetic and pleasant shows care, patience and strength. The lack of these qualities is glaringly obvious in a global population addicted to their smartphones. But they are vital in a professional setting, and, in a social face-to-face environment, go a long way towards being liked, good company and a sought after friend or mentor. When not face-to-face, it can be all too easy to speak harshly or even rudely. Much can be achieved by following a few simple rules.
There are many great speakers, Martin Luther king Jnr., Herbert Croly, Carl Jung, Ayn Rand, Deepak Chopra, the list goes on, but one of my personal favorites is Noam Chomsky. I don't think there is anything going on in the world that he doesn't know about, but he also has a deep understanding and a perceptive viewpoint. He is the David Attenborough of the social/political arena wherever its creating news.
This page includes a number of his insights, including others I have mentioned. I have tried to present them in a novel and fun way if you are using a desk or laptop. They also show on your smartphone. Enjoy.
It is not the challenges present in life that make us who we are. It is how we deal with them that ultimately determines the quality of our existence. This understanding can remove the anxiety and pain that so often limits choices and frustrates desires.
The technological world we live in today has made us realize our vulnerability. Brashness and effrontery are commonplace in the arena of faceless communication, and the inexperience of youth and the appalling lack of etiquette and empathy from the school curriculum removes any hope for young people to process these assaults on their psyche.
Here I offer a few insights into life's multiplicity of shades both dark and light. Here, I hope to provide some resonance with universal truths that are part of all of us, without exception, and can offer a salve to glance the blows that can so often dare to destroy us.
The word "Chakra" in Sanskrit means "wheel". To clairvoyant sight they appear as wheel-like vortices containing mental, astral and etheric matter. The Pineal gland in the brain, according to many philosophers, is the seat of the soul acting as a link beteen the visible and invisible worlds.
Activation of the brain cells in this region through prayer and meditation is said to bring about an awakening of intuitive perception.
This gland, not unlike a transmutational reaction, releases its spiritual essence into the individual when the dross has been burnt from the personality; its action transforms the recipient into a bearer of light.
Tibetan and Indian literature place the Chakras along the cerebro-spinal axis, lying around 3 inches behind the spinal column.
Every breath we take, every beat of our heart, every thought that crosses our mind, is a testament to the cosmic dance of atoms and molecules that make up our being. We are not just observers of the universe, we are the universe observing itself. We are brought to life by the cosmic forces of nature, and given the ability to ponder our own existence. We are the progeny of cosmic evolution and every thought and deed is echoed in infinity.
Financial benefits generated by increases in the value of land rightfully belong to society. It is morally reprehensible to deny the people the benefit of that huge income produced by their own labours, and which currently goes entirely to the landowner who contributes nothing to create it.
Annual Ground Rent will provide greater financial stability, and make available a huge budget specifically for vital infrastructure, health, education, and transport. AGR will discourage property speculation and drastically reduce rent and mortgage payments. Houses and apartments will become homes again, and there has never been a time of greater need than right now!
A Korean martial art that employs both long-range and close-range fighting techniques, utilizing jumping kicks and percussive hand strikes at longer ranges, and pressure point strikes, joint locks, and throws at closer fighting distances. Hapkido emphasizes circular motion, redirection of force, and control of the opponent. Practitioners seek to gain advantage over their opponents through footwork and body positioning to incorporate the use of leverage, avoiding the use of brute strength against brute strength.
